As the temperatures drop New Yorkers flock to anywhere they can stay warm, and during this time of the year bubbles, yurts, igloos, chalets –you name it–are all on our radar.

Just in time, St. Moritz and Badrutt’s Palace Hotel are partnering with NYC’s iconic Peninsula hotel to make the holiday season a bit cooler, while keeping us cozy at the same time.

Chalet de Ning, which transports guests straight to the magic that is St. Moritz, Switzerland, is a new rooftop experience that mimics the notorious winter glitz and spirit of Badrutt’s Palace Hotel’s newest restaurant and mountain club that sets the standard of luxurious après ski.

Two mountainside-chalet-inspired domes located on the west-side terrace of The Peninsula New York’s iconic rooftop bar, Salon de Ning, make up the glamorous winter wonderland.

The chalets are decorated in a way which resemble the chic ski lodge in St. Moritz, filled with vintage posters, ski equipment, Swiss Alp essentials such as snow shoes, and even freestanding chimeneas.

Plus, a back drop of snow-topped trees and luxurious furs make guests feel like they’ve been transported straight to the Swiss Alps (save for the gorgeous Manhattan skyline in the background!)

After cozying up in your chalet, guests can dig into Alpine-inspired delicacies including truffle fondue with gruyère, Swiss chocolate fondue, and smoked trout rillete, among other dishes.

Two specialty cocktails are the perfect accompaniment to your meal, and include the St. Moritzino with Grey Goose, Cointreau, orgeat syrup, and fresh lime, and the Winter Spritz with Aperol, white wine, apple juice, and Crème de Pêche.

“Chalet de Ning celebrates enchanting holiday festivities and celebratory travel experiences in one of the world’s most exhilarating destinations for food, drink and luxury hospitality,” says Rolf Buehlmann, general manager of Peninsula New York. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to reopen our doors this season in partnership with St. Moritz Tourism and the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel to experience European winter traditions and flavors with our dynamic community and travelers from all over the world.”

Open now through Saturday, December 31, Chalet de Ning is open Tuesday-Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight. It’s located at 700 5th Ave, 23rd Floor.
